There are so many churches today that say you have to wait to be baptized 6 months or even up to a year. However, when you think about the fact that according to the Bible we can receive the forgiveness of our sins through undergoing baptism first, then how can we enter the Kingdom of Heaven? The Bible says that we cannot boast about tomorrow in Proverbs 27:1, “Do not boast about tomorrow, for you do not know what a day may bring.” Then how can someone wait when we dont even know if we will be alive in the next 10 minutes? We must get eternal life right away and not wait. In the Bible there are so many examples of immediate baptism. Jesus Christ showed through a parable that we cannot delay baptism Luke 12:16-20, “And he told them this parable: “The ground of a certain rich man yielded an abundant harvest. He thought to himself, ‘What shall I do? I have no place to store my crops.“Then he said, ‘This is what I’ll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store my surplus grain. And I’ll say to myself, “You have plenty of grain laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat, drink and be merry. But God said to him, ‘You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself?” Then even though we have our own plans, if our life is demanded of us before baptism, then we cannot be saved. This is why we should not delay baptism until tomorrow. Even from the time of the early church we can see many examples of baptism immediately. In Acts chapter 8 we can see apostle Philip baptizing an Etheopian eunich immediately, or apostle Peter with the jailer and his family in Acts chapter 16. Even apostle Paul with Lydia ( a dealer in purple cloth from the city of Thyatira). However, despite the numerous examples, still many hesitate to be baptized immediately because they were baptized previously in their churches. But, how did Jesus Christ say we should be baptized? Matthew 28:18-19, “Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,” Then how many NAMES should we know in order to be baptrized correctly? The NAME of the Father is Jehovah, the NAME of the Son is Jesus, then what is the NAME of the Holy Spirit? Jesus did not say baptize repeating the verse I just said, or to baptize in the Title. He said we must be baptized in the NAME. Without being baptized into the name of the Holy Spirit, then we have not been baptized correctly. The World Mission Society Chruch of God baptizes in ALL three NAMES and know the name of the Holy Spirit!
