Many Christians in the world today say that they believe in Jesus Christ and that they believe and also follow the Bible. However, if we look for ourselves in the Bible, we can find out whether or not that is true!  The last warning God gave us in the Bible is Revelation 22:18-19, ” I warn everyone who hears the words of the prophecy of this scroll: If anyone adds anything to them, God will add to that person the plagues described in this scroll. 19 And if anyone takes words away from this scroll of prophecy, God will take away from that person any share in the tree of life and in the Holy City, which are described in this scroll.” Then if we add or take away any Word from the Bible, we cannot enter the Kingdom of Heaven and we will face spiritual death! Then even from the creation we can see which day God set aside in Genesis 2:1-3, “Thus the heavens and the earth were completed in all their vast array. By the seventh day God had finished the work he had been doing; so on the seventh day he rested from all his work. Then God blessed the seventh day and made it holy, because on it he rested from all the work of creating that he had done.” This seventh day was so important that God even put this day in the 10 Commandments. In Exodus 20:8-11 we can see the 4th Commandment, ““Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a sabbath to the LORD your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns. For in six days the LORD made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but he rested on the seventh day. Therefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.” Then this seventh day was so important that God also gave it a name. The name of the Seventh day is the Sabbath day. But why did God start this commandment with the word REMEMBER. The other Commandments start as “You shall not….”, but this is the only one with REMEMBER. God already knew that we would forget to keep this day Holy. Then, in order to keep the Sabbathy day/ seventh day holy, we need to know what day of the week it is. According to the dictionary, the definition of Saturday is the seventh day of the week and the definition of Sunday is the first day of the week. Even on the Calender we can see the same evidence. So, why does everyone keep Sunday? What day should they be keeping holy? It should be Saturday/ Sabbath / Seventh day. This day is so important that you also receive a sign from God when you keep it Holy and only then can you come to know God according to Exodus 31:13, “Say to the Israelites, ‘You must observe my Sabbaths. This will be a sign between me and you for the generations to come, so you may know that I am the LORD, who makes you holy.” Then we see that God said MUST observe Sabbaths for the generations to come! What was the result of those who did not keep the Sabbath Holy in the old testament times? Exodus 31:14, “Observe the Sabbath, because it is holy to you. Anyone who desecrates it is to be put to death; those who do any work on that day must be cut off from their people.” This is a veryb serious COmmand in God’s point of view! God even shows an example of a man who didn’t keep the Sabbath day and what the result was in Numbers 15:32-36, “While the Israelites were in the wilderness, a man was found gathering wood on the Sabbath day. Those who found him gathering wood brought him to Moses and Aaron and the whole assembly, and they kept him in custody, because it was not clear what should be done to him. Then the LORD said to Moses, “The man must die. The whole assembly must stone him outside the camp.” So the assembly took him outside the camp and stoned him to death, as the LORD commanded Moses.” This was a harsh punishment! But many Christians say today that we don’t have to keep the Sabbth anymopre because it is an old testament law. However in the New Testament wqe can find Jesus Christ’s example. Then if we are true followers of Christ, then we should be following the same example. According to Luke 4:16-17, “He went to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and on the Sabbath day he went into the synagogue, as was his custom. He stood up to read, and the scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. Unrolling it, he found the place where it is written:…” Then Christ’s own example in the New Testament is to also keep the Sabbath day Holy by going to the temple of worship and reading from the scriptures. Then as disciples today we too should be keeping the Sabbath day/ Saturday Holy. Some however, argue that Sunday worship is commemorating the ressurection of Jesus Christ because He rose on Sunday. But, if we are supposed to keep Sunday after Jesus Christ’s ressurection, then shouldn’t we see the disciples after He ressurected keeping Sunday? Many years later apostle Paul clearly shows in Acts 17:2 what day he worshiped. “As was his custom, Paul went into the synagogue, and on three Sabbath days he reasoned with them from the Scriptures,” The reason why Paul said 3 Sabbaths was because he was traveling and was in Thessalonica for only 3 weeks. But it clearly tells us in Acts 18:4 how often he kept Sabbath day, “Every Sabbath he reasoned in the synagogue, trying to persuade Jews and Greeks.” Then even after the ressurection ofm Jesus Christ the disciple kept the Sabbath Day/ Saturday holy, not Sunday.  Jesus Christ also lets us know for how long He is expecting us to kewep the Sabbath day in Matthew 24:20, “Pray that your flight will not take place in winter or on the Sabbath.” When you read all of chapter 24 in this book and even look at the title of this chapter in your Bible, you will see that it says, ” Signs of the End of the Age”. Then, clearly even to nthe end of the world we should still be keeping Sabbath day, Seventh day Saturday holy and not Sunday. God’s will is Saturday in the Bibole not Sunday. However, many people still aregue by saying that all we need is faith and none of this matters. Let’s see what Christ said in Matthew 7:21-23, ““Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Many will say to me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name and in your name drive out demons and in your name perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers!’”
