What is the gospel? So many churches have their own idea of what the gospel is, but we have to see from God’s point of view what is the gospel! Romans 15:16, “…to be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles. He gave me the priestly duty of proclaiming the gospel of God, so that the Gentiles might become an offering acceptable to God, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.” According to 2Corinthians 3:6, “He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant—not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.” This allows us to understand that the gospel is the new covenant! Then what is the New Covenant? Luke 22:(8-20)Jesus sent Peter and John, saying, “Go and make preparations for us to eat the Passover……..When the hour came, Jesus and his apostles reclined at the table. And he said to them, “I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer….. And he took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is my body given for you; do this in remembrance of me……In the same way, after the supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood, which is poured out for you.” According to Christ’s own words the New Covenant is the Passover! So whenever we hear gospel, we now know that it means the New Covenant Passover! Galatians1:(6-8), “I am astonished that you are so quickly deserting the one who called you to live in the grace of Christ and are turning to a different gospel—which is really no gospel at all. Evidently some people are throwing you into confusion and are trying to pervert the gospel of Christ. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you, let them be under God’s curse.” Many call this ceremony communion, but you cannot find this in the Bible at all! This is the New Covenant Passover that is only kept at the Passover’s appointed time! The World Mission Society Church of God celebrates the the New Covenant Passover which is the true gospel!
